Women Who Rock Collection
Women performers who have influenced rock and roll music through their music and way of thinking inspired this symbolic jewelry. ‘Revolution Dove’ borrows inspiration from the peace, love and happiness spread though the 60’s and early 70’s. Bell bottoms, floral head pieces and oftentimes peace signs and icons of doves adorned women throughout this time. ‘Punk Explosion’ was inspired by the punk era, where women were tough and rebellious. Women refused to reform to the mainstream and the social norm. In both collections a woman’s symbol is incorporated within the necklaces, and the pieces are bronze with sterling silver accent. The jewelry was created in conjunction with the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, OH for their Women Who Rock exhibition.
The Jewish Museum Collection
Created in conjunction with The Jewish Museum in New York, this jewelry is inspired directly by art in the museum. Decorative elements from 18th and 19th century Hanukkah lamps were inspiration for a Tree of Life necklace and earring set and Peace Dove jewelry, an amulet inspired a delicate Hamsa on white pearl necklace and a Shiviti print within the collections is where Cynthia drew inspiration for a stunning pair of Lion cufflinks.
Grasset Columbine Collection
Cynthia Gale has created two new collections in conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Grasset Rose and Grasset Columbine. The designs in sterling silver are inspired by Eugene Grasset’s design book, Plants and Their Application to Ornament (1841-1917). Grasset was a graphic designer and teacher of Decorative Arts in Paris in the late 19th century. He developed influential theories of graphic design, emphasizing a reliance on organic patterns when developing decorative motifs. The Columbine and Wild Rose plates, which have inspired these collections, reside in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Cynthia’s beautiful interpretations include the use of mother of pearl, pink pearl and sterling silver to bring his designs to life in wearable fashion.
Belle Nouveau Collection
The Belle Nouveau Collection is inspired by art nouveau designs, featuring dangling bells throughout. Utilizing both filigree and repoussè, the delicate, organic look in this all sterling collection is perfect for the summer and everyday elegance. Feminine and unique, there is a special piece for every woman to accessorize.
The City that Never Sleeps
The City that Never Sleeps collection is inspired by the New-York Historical Society's Irving Browning collection. The collection consists of 1,885 gelatin silver photgraphic prints, as well as epherma relating to Irving Browning's career as a photographer and cinematographer.
The Grateful Dead Collection
In their thirty years working together, the Grateful Dead forever altered the way in which popular music is performed, recorded, heard, marketed and shared. From the very beginning in 1965, the Dead distinguished themselves by their preference for live performance, musical and business creativity, and an unprecedented dedication to their fans. This exquisite sterling silver jewelry collection from Cynthia Gale celebrates iconic Grateful Dead imagery for Dead Heads all around the world.
Orient Fleur
Debuting a new collection of sterling silver and pearl jewelry just in time for Spring, Cynthia Gale has designed an organic masterpiece, Orient Fleur. Mother of Pearl jewelry, which is both carved in relief and hand cut, has been set into twisted sterling silver wire and depicts nature-inspired motifs.
