Partnership: Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project

Together with Wildlife Alliance, the Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project recently organized an evening dedicated to Cambodian Elephant Conservation. The party was hosted by Wesley Wang at his beautiful Soho loft. Wildlife Alliance’s Rescue Director, Nick Marx, and AEACP Director, David Ferris, each presented on their conservation efforts. Original canvas paintings done by Asian Elephants and one-of-a-kind elephant painted dresses designed by top fashion designers were sold with the proceeds going to benefit the elephants. The GeoArt team came out to support the event and modeled elephant painted dresses for the sale.

“Working together to create a cleaner, greener New York.”
August 2009

Partnership: Council on the Environment of New York City

“Learn It, Grow It, Eat It,” also known as LGE, is a phenomenal program from the Council on the Environment of New York City. During their summer term, students are chosen for a paid internship program, where they learn the ins and outs of nutrition and agriculture, studying part of the week in the classroom and working hands-on to grow crops in community gardens. Learning the full cycle of the development of food, students sell their produce at greenmarkets, giving back to those around them and educating the public on what they have learned. In August, the GeoArt team had the privilege of meeting these up-and-coming students whose enthusiasm and hard work shown through while giving us a guided tour of their well kept gardens and market. In support of CENYC, GeoArt by Cynthia Gale has three ‘green’ jewelry lines made of 80% recycled silver: the Eco Secret Garden, Go Green and I Love Green. A portion of the proceeds of each piece of jewelry sold from these collections goes back to the council’s programs with students.
